CAR-T Cell Therapy
**Note:** The following describes an area of investigational scientific research. BH Onco's cellular products are investigational, have not been approved by the U.S. FDA, and are not offered as a treatment for any disease.
CAR-T Cell Therapy is an advanced immunotherapy that reprograms a patient’s T-cells to target and kill cancer cells. T-cells are extracted, genetically engineered to express chimeric antigen receptors (CARs) that recognize specific cancer antigens, and then re-infused into the patient. In research, CAR-T cells are engineered to target cancer cells and have been studied in blood cancers such as B-cell leukemia and lymphoma. CAR-T therapy can cause severe side effects, such as Cytokine Release Syndrome (CRS) and neurotoxicity, and is complex and costly to produce. Ongoing research continues to study its safety, effectiveness, and accessibility. It remains an active area of scientific investigation.
